Wambui Bahati began her formal theatrical studies at New York University School of the Arts. She went on to perform in several Broadway productions. Her regional and touring theater credits are extensive.
Wambui wrote, produced and stars in the one-woman musicals Balancing Act and I Am Domestic Violence. Both of these shows have received national acclaim and awards for the unique way they provide outstanding entertainment while dealing with important issues in our communities.
She has written and performed custom presentations for organizations such as NOW (National Organization for Women), Habitat for Humanity, and the Carter Center. This dynamic survivor draws upon her diverse background and an environment filled with challenging adversities that she miraculously overcame.
Wambui enriches her presentations with insightful and dramatic illustrations, stories, songs and humor. She knows what it takes to challenge and inspire her listeners to "remember" just how powerful and wonderful they already are.
She has been a Broadway star. She has been on welfare. She was told she would spend the rest of her life in mental institutions. She has been homeless. She has dined with a former President of the United States.
