W. G. Pride  

Early in life: 

W. G. Pride’s life began in a small town in upper New York, working on a farm, where he graduated from high school and then took a position with General Electric (GE) Company of Schenectady, New York. He took leave of G E for a tour with the Navy which he completed at San Diego, California. While on leave of the Navy he married a young lady of Amsterdam, New York and they returned to San Diego to live. Upon completion of his tour he and his family returned to Amsterdam where he returned to his position at the General Electric Company.  

Adjustments in life: 

Pride, shortly after returning to G E realized personal adjustments were required to stay completive, so much so that he determined education at a University was the route to undertake. He and his family moved to Oklahoma to attend The University where he found employment at the Western Electric Company which enabled him complete both a bachelors and masters degree and upon graduation accepted a position at the New Mexico Junior College. I heard Pride state, at the time, that the move to Oklahoma was the greatest adjustment in his life, that is, the moving of the family cross country leaving all their family members behind.

Educational Endeavors: 

Prides’ endeavors which included New Mexico further entailed moves to Texas, Illinois, Oklahoma, Kansas, and back to Oklahoma. During these moves he had the opportunity to set up a high school co-op program for disadvantaged student, develop a Junior College Learning Resource Center, Institute a high school Architectural design and model building program and assist in procuring electronics equipment for the State Area Voc-Tech schools. 

Brick and Mortar operations:  

Prides’ establishments covered the area of service related businesses such as laundry and dry cleaning, air conditioning, building and grounds maintenance, landscape service, major appliance sales and repair, and equipment distributor.

Personal enjoyments: 

Pride enjoys his vintage vehicles, Ping Golf Clubs, Piloting across America.

Activities today:  

Moving with the trends of today pride has become involved in Internet Marketing and there are plenty of opportunities on the net—but watch out. A very good organization is known as MY VM team—much can be said for their assistance on the net.
