Tom Scott, Ph.D.

Dr. Tom Scott is an associate professor at Lynchburg College in Central Virginia where he teaches quantitative modeling, project management, and operations management.  He was graduated from the the University of Cincinnati in 1994 with a Ph.D. in Quantitative Analysis.

Prior to his current appointment, he was the Chief Executive Officer of a $20MM manufacturing facility where he was promoted from Chief Financial Officer.  He oversaw the development and sale of a patented manufacturing process.

From 1989 to 1997, Dr. Scott was with the Mead Corporation, serving in roles including Senior Operations Analyst and Director of Strategic Marketing.

Dr. Scott's pending publications include  a 2007 submission to the International Journal of Operations and Production Management entitled, "Entrepreneurial Personality, Operating Strategy, Job Performance, and Overall Satisfaction:  Evidence from the United States."

He is currently involved in research projects with Centra Health, Cardiovascular Associates of Central Virginia, and new product introductions through venture firm BrightHammer, LLC., of Richmond, Virginia.
