Terry Barnhart is an Executive Director with Gold Star Referral Clubs, one of the newest and fastest growing networking organizations in the United States. (www.goldstarreferralclubs.com) .  Prior to joining Gold Star, he was an area director for Business Network International, where he formed 10 chapters in four communities.

 

He currently serves as Program Developer for California State University, Stanislaus, where he is responsible for the development of corporate training programs for Central California businesses and industries.

         

Terry Barnhart is no stranger to Leadership.  As a student at the University of Houston, he was elected President of his Public Relations Student Society of America Chapter, and was the University's delegate to the National Conference.  As a soldier in the U.S. Army he earned the honor graduate position and the Golden Quill award at the Department of Defense Information School, and subsequently posted to the U.S. Army's Public Relations Staff at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.  There he worked with the State Department, White House Staff, Congressional Office Staffs and many community dignitaries.  His Leadership capabilities were rewarded with accelerated promotions and the U.S. Army Commendation Medal for exemplary service.    As a hospital marketing executive, he was elected to be the President of the Iowa Hospital Public Relations Society.  He has been an executive with not for profit hospitals, a tax district hospital and investor-owned healthcare systems and, a Vice President of Sales for a National Service Organization for hospitals.

He is aslo the President of his own consulting and coaching company, where he is an Executive Leadership Coach for individuals and businesses. He is active in his community and serves as Vice President of the Leadership Alumni Association in Modesto, California He has consulted with Ocadian Health Systems, The Permanente Medical Group, Covenant Health Care and numerous physicians.  His coaching clients include physicians, nurses, physical therapy centers, chambers of commerce, jewelers, advertising companies, Business Network International and many other clients.  He is a frequent speaker in the California Central Valley, and was recently a key-note speaker and break-out session speaker for the California Medical Group Management Association and a breakout speaker at the 2005 International Conference of the Community Leadership Association in Atlanta.   

He holds a Masters Degree in Mass Communication from Drake University and a Bachelors Degree in Journalism from the University of Houston.  He earned prestigious Accreditation status by The Public Relations Society of America in 1982.    He earned post-graduate certificates from the M.W. Kellogg Graduate School of Business, Northwestern University, The First Interstate School of Service Marketing at Arizona State University, and Southern Methodist University.  

He and his wife Cindy have been married 38 years and have two children. His wife, Cindy, is a second grade teacher.  His son just completed his second deployment in Iraq as a Blackhawk helicopter crew chief, and his daughter works for Kaiser Healthcare in San Diego as an cardiology technician.
