Sergio A. Picon
Mr. Picon has eighteen years experience in the power generation industry. In 2005, he joined Wood Group Power Operations, Inc., in Atlanta, Georgia ("WGPO"), as Executive Vice President. WGPO is part of the Gas Turbine Services Division of international energy services company John Wood Group PLC ("Wood Group"), an international energy services company with more than $5bn sales, employing circa 28,000 people worldwide and operating in 46 countries. Mr. Picon currently holds a VP of Business Development position in Wood Group Gas Turbine Services, responsible for sales in the Americas.
In 2000 and prior to WG, Mr. Picon joined The PIC Energy Group in Atlanta, Georgia as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing. In February of 2003 he was appointed President of PIC Energy Services, Inc. Mr. Picon also served as Executive Vice President for Iraq Power Group (IPG), a joint venture established to develop and service Iraq’s power sector.
Prior to PIC, Mr. Picon served in the role of Region Leader for Latin America with GE Power Systems, Contractual Services line of business. During his tenure, Latin America contributed over $1.3B USD of Backlog to GE Power Systems.
In 1995, Mr. Picon relocated to Tucuman, Argentina and worked on the construction, start up and commissioning of a 4xLM6000 facility, where he remained as Plant Manager until end of 1997.
In 1989, Mr. Picon joined GE Aircraft Engines as a Gas Turbine specialist living in Toulouse, France focused on the Airbus A300, A320 and A340 flight test program. He later relocated back to the United States of America as a Field Service Engineer leveraging the gas turbine experience into the power industry. While in the Marine & Industrial division of General Electric, Mr. Picon provided installation and startup services on more than 40 green-field power facilities as well as directing preventative and corrective maintenance to GE's LM fleet.
