Who is Marty Atherton and What is She Doing Here?

Marty Atherton is a Volunteer Management Consultant with over fifteen years in the field in Southern California and Georgia as a paid Volunteer Administrator and many years as a volunteer. 

She is the official Volunteer Management Consultant, Team Lead/Lead Faculty and Trainer for Georgia Center for Nonprofits. Currently, Marty is working with a nonprofit to capture many more 2008 holiday volunteers and turn them into donors; negotiating thousands of dollars a month in in-kind donations for organizations and building of a non profit agency.

Marty's mission is to strengthen volunteer programs in companies and organizations through consulting, training, and facilitating special events.

She has worked for a variety of nonprofits from large state organizations to small government agencies serving one county.  She has experience building an entire volunteer program, revving up existing programs, maximizing volunteers at special events and much more.

While working at a family service agency for thirteen years the number of volunteer staff increased annually by over 1333%, and events went up with one holiday event having 1200 volunteers serving 1750 clients. She has also birthed a volunteer program, and still trains volunteer managers on the local, regional and national level and negotiates tens of thousands of dollars annually for client and volunteers needs through in-kind donations.
