Marilyn Swanson is someone who is loyal and dedicated. There will always be highs and lows in life...and in business. However, Marilyn is a subscriber to the great advice from her mentor, Coach Cobb, who says "Being 'up' is great but when I was down, I learned from it." When it comes to being in business online, she believes in the old saying "You have to work hard at it...for at least a year", but takes it one step further. Marilyn knows there is no "get rich quick" magic button and that in order to have business success online, you have to build online business relationships. While this is becoming easier with the availability of social networks, she goes the extra mile to help out those who are also working toward online success. Helping others gives her a personal sense of satisfaction and keeps her focused not only on personal goals, but the betterment of the world in general.
Some History
For most of her working years, Marilyn Swanson has been involved in some type of customer service. Being in management did not deter her from keeping in touch with the customers. After all, without the customers, would there be a business? And going a step further, does a business with no customers require a manager? So, the history lesson here is, " Always stay in touch with your customer" or you will be the manager of a building with an echo!" This applies in so many areas of one's working life.

Doing business online for the past several years has been worthwhile and very enjoyable for Marilyn. Like with any other business, perseverance is a requirement, as she does not subscribe to the “get rich overnight” mentality. A worthwhile business merits taking the time to properly nurture and develop into something long term. Marilyn discovered that finding programs that she can really see herself involved with, is half the road to success. The other half is seeing things through and sticking with it. To have a successful home business you must treat it like a business. Some programs can be started and maintained for free, but to really achieve great success she suggests investing as much time and resources in your business as you can afford, to develop it to the point where it will sustain itself. To this end, making your presence known is a must - expand your visibility online - advertise.

The story continues...along with being an online business owner, Marilyn Swanson is also a Library Manager a couple of days each week. The work at the Library takes care of her love for books and provides her the opportunity to encourage others to read. This love of reading and learning was instilled in her by her first grade teacher, Mrs. Pierce. That passion for what books can provide is still with her today and she shares it with all who want passage on the learning voyage.
