Loretta Parker Spivey

Loretta Parker Spivey, founder of Your Write Hand, LLC, has been writing professionally for over 20 years. She has the ability to look at the big picture, cut through extraneous information and get to the core of an issue. This is an extremely valuable trait when it comes to writing personal branding copy, books, magazine articles and blogs.

Loretta spent several years as a trainer and underwriter for The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc. There she honed her analytical, written and verbal communication skills, while evaluating and pricing commercial automobile, general liablity and worker's compensation insurance policies. Her seven plus years as director of an internship program, based on the campus of the University of Hartford have given her significant experience in reviewing, evaluating and editing personal branding documents such as, resumes, cover letters and biographical sketches.

Loretta authored a book entitled Straight Talk….How Teens Make Wise Decisions about Love and Sex and is presently working on two books, Eternity Interrupted, a book about the grief associated with the death of a loved one, and MySpace Unwrapped, Untangled and Explained, Helping Parents Understand Social Websites and Other Technology.

Loretta develops, writes and presents several seminars and workshops. Her presentations are energetic, original and humorous, yet packed with common sense truth. Her audiences are varied and include teens, young adults and seniors. She works well with people of all incomes and socio-economic levels.

Loretta is a proud graduate of Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. It was there that she first experienced volunteer work from an international perspective. She continues to serve locally and internationally. Her service work has taken her to the Dominican Republic, Peru, Africa, Bermuda, Indonesia, Korea, Ecuador and throughout the United States.Last summer, she went to Chile to do double duty as a writer/photographer and member of the leadership team for a group of approximately 150. This summer, she'll be heading to Mexico to work as spiritual leader, writer and photographer.
