Hello!
I was born in New Jersey and have wonderful memories of spending much time outside exploring the woods behind our home. We lived in a relatively new development where there were only 3 houses (including ours) on our side of the street. Down the small hill in our backyard cut a creek full of trout, sunfish, perch and polywogs waiting to be housed in the rock pools we made on the banks. The trees that lined the creek on our side were massive with think roots that made steps down to the shallows and shale edges. I had a wooden sign nailed to the biggest tree that was the gatekeeper to the steps below that read in pink paint “no boys allowed”. It was not very effective since I had only brothers and most of the children in the neighborhood were boys. However, I guarded my territory quite diligently and they were very happy when I actually invited them into my ‘home’ and didn’t try to run them off.
On the other side of the creek was a large woods with clearings filled with skunk cabbage and blackberries . More than a few times we came home at the end of the day stinking like you couldn’t believe and our shirts filled with berries. In the winter time we skated on the frozen creek or the ice rink that my dad would make every year right outside our back door. Igloos, snowmen and snow angels, sledding and snowball fights were frequent winter entertainment.
I was transplanted to Texas at 11 and have been here ever since. With the 2 seasons of warm and hot, I haven’t enjoyed the pleasures of snow, however, I pray diligently for it ever year. I love traveling Texas with my husband and friends and look for opportunities to do so often. Flying is NOT my favorite thing in the world (I’ll tell that story another time!) and I have said I’d rather walk than fly. I do see the benefits of flying, especially when I am visiting clients that are quite far away, so I will hop on a plane to visit if requested.
I am honored to have been married to my husband, Will, for over 20 years, with 3 daughters that are just about grown. Will has that amazing ability to use both sides of his brain quite effectively. He is very business savvy, has an excellent memory, is skilled with numbers and annoyingly logical, as well as, solves problems intuitively, can draw out projects as you describe them, and is very artistic. I love him tons and am so glad he is my husband!
Acacia Originals, LLC came out of years of experience from the architectural millwork and specialty projects that our previous company handled. That company no longer exists and Acacia is a refinement of all the skills and resources obtained over the years. We love the unusual, challenging and unique projects, and work with a vast variety of mediums. We work with fine domestic and exotic veneers, marble, granite, travertine, limestone, architectural glass, ornamental metals, structural steel components, various connective devices, and have great resources for the newest technologies available.
