Go Local Atlanta - Supporting Local Independent Bu

As an Owner of an Indie Business in Atlanta

YOU DESERVE to KNOW –

2010 is the Year to Go Local in Atlanta area!

Go Local Atlanta supports local, independently owned businesses like yours - by rewarding the consumers that support locally owned businesses.  This allows local businesses like us to battle the big boxes and national chains and compete with other local businesses not yet a part of our strong network.

At the heart of the program is a Go Local Card which consumers purchase for $10.  When consumers present their Go Local Card at any participating Go Local Business they receive a reward of some sort, either as a percentage discount or as a incentive product, such as a free coffee, dessert or glass of wine.

As you know, there is a growing nationwide movement toward eating and shopping locally, but the human condition also dictates consumers will stray to the familiar.  They need an incentive to encourage them to make the shift from spending at big box stores to spending at locally-owned businesses … and the Go Local Card is a powerful, yet subtle and cost effective way to make that happen.  Right now, it is a economic no-brainer.

In Austin, TX (where Go Local originated) there are more than 200 businesses and 30,000 cardholders participating in the Go Local Austin, where ‘hyper-local’ is the rage and the Mayor and city endorsed the program, even declaring “Go Local Day”.  We can do the same in other cities, including Atlanta and all the suburbs.  Three ways owners have benefited:

1. Existing clients support you a little more often, simply because they are being rewarded every time they shop or dine with you.

2. New customers are continually produced as they track and support new Go Local Businesses.

3. When they distribute the Go Local Card, businesses make a profit of $5 (buy at $5, selling for $10.)

Two Ways to Be Part of Go Local Business Partner:

1.Pay an annual membership fee. Check with me to learn about our current special offer.  As a Go Local Member/Partner, we will promote you on our website and in a brochure which is available at all Partner businesses. We also use social media, such as Twitter and Facebook on a regular basis to get your name out to the public.  In addition, we will soon have a phone app so that consumers can easily check where the Go Local Card is accepted ---- very neat.

2.Be part of the distribution of the cards; it provides you with a revenue stream outlined above.  We encourage you to buy 20 cards. This puts you in a position to start making profits right away.  Also, as your customers will soon be asking where they can obtain these cards, you want to be their referred resource.

“I love the Go Local card! I started planning my day around places I can save money. I think it paid for itself in the first month in cupcakes alone from Quack’s and Hey! Cupcake. I’ve discovered lots of new places with it and it’s a constant reminder that local is better in so many ways. Austin already knows how important having a strong local economy is, so I’m glad we can now literally be card-carrying supporters of Austin businesses!” -Carrie, email of 2/19/2010
