Meet Kathy

How Kathy Helps YOU Today:

Growing your business is a passion of mine.  Making things more streamlined, efficient and better leveraged is something I've done in every job I've ever held - from counseling medical students on financial aid to volunteer work for Public TV.

In order to achieve the best results with your company (especially in today's economy) - you have to be well balanced throughout your life.  Your health, your mental state, your internal workings and your business are all undeniably connected.  The "Joy of Connecting" all those parts is a large portion of what I do.  We streamline your economics in the business (bringing your costs down, profits up, customers in the door - and more) - but we also work with you to create a healthier, happier you - someone READY for that success - and who can sustain it ongoingly.

I believe the main reasons most businesses fail is not due to them being bad ideas or even poorly run as a business - but due to what the owners would consider outside circumstances - such as health, stress, marital issues and more.  It wasn't "the business" that died - it was the support structure.  I'm sure you know (either in passing or personally, that to which I refer.)  Conversely, I've understood this balance for decades - and want to help you achieve the same type of leverage, balance and growth I have experienced in my life. You can read more about where I began to cultivate these traits in the 42 Rules of Connecting - contact me to buy a copy.

I love to connect people and help them find ways to save money and both GoLocal and The Joy of Connecting offer me the opportunity to help you do just that.

The Go Local Card - (GoLocal ATL and GoLocal Decatur) support local, independently owned businesses like yours - by rewarding the consumers that support locally owned businesses.  This allows local businesses like us to battle the big boxes and national chains and compete with other local businesses not yet a part of our strong network.

At the heart of the program is a Go Local Card which consumer purchse for $10.  When consumers present their Go Local Card at any participating Go Local Business they receive a reward of some sort - either as a percentage discound or as an incentive product - such as a free coffee, dessert or glass of wine.

Go Local's mission is simple - to simultaneously champion the businesses that make our community unique and reward the people that support them.

Unlike a coupon, the Go Local Card can be used with every visit, inspiring customer loyalty and repeat business.  And we know it works!!!!

Go Local is Good for Your Business, Your Community, Your Customers, And Good for Mother Earth

Best referrals for me – locally owned spas, arts & cultural org, boutiques, restaurants, book stores, coffee shops, health and wellness businesses.  And non-profit organizations that would like to raise funds selling our GoLocal Cards. www.golocalatl.com

The Joy of Connecting -  Women network differently when it is just "us girls" hanging out and enjoying a relaxed dinner/networking event as  business owners and entrepreneurs - but also as women and friends.  In August 2008, I became a licensee for JOC and am hosting my own Joy of Connecting events in Decatur.   Contact Kathy to find out more about attending a JOC evening or becoming a licensee.

Outside of work Kathy and her husband Grant are:

Avid birders and love to tour the country and the world in search of new "life list" birds

Are both beer lovers and have published a great review of best beer pubs their experiences.

Are ardent and frugal travelers who know how to save money, but still have lots of fun!  Love to stay at Bed and Breakfasts and enjoy sharing stories with other BabyBoomers while enjoying the slower pace of B&Bs.

Both are huge fans of sports (Penn State Sports, Pittsburgh Steelers and Duke Basketball)

Kathy and Grant are proud grandparents of two wonderful grandchildren.  Grant and Kathy will soon be publishing books for children and Grant will be hosting and producing a podcast about beer.  Yes, sudsy wonderful beer!

Back to the books - they will revolve around the great vacations taken with their grandchildren. In the books, Grant will tell his usual wonderful stories incorporating his superior knowledge of history and adventures we already know children love to hear (and prepare to experience themselves, perhaps!)
