SARAH PALIN PROJECT
I am currently sending Prayers for Governor Palin and her family to her from her supporters to encourage her.
The project grew out of a small group of friends who had joined me in praying for Governor Palin during the election of 2008. According to GOD’s plan, I was able to meet Sarah after she completed the Vice Presidential Debate. As she was speaking at the Rally, I turned over my business card and penned, “Sarah, I’m prayin’ for you!” And I put my signature smiley face on it, too. Much to my surprise a couple of Secret Servicemen walked by after her speech and said that Gov. Palin would be signing autographs. As she stepped in front of me, I turned my business card with my handwritten message toward her. Sarah took it from my hand and read it. She turned it over to see my name. When she looked up at me, her eyes were filled with tears. Then she said, “Kathi, is this for me?” Before I could respond she asked, “Kathi, may I please have this card?” I said, “Of course.” She asked one of the secret servicemen to put the card in her purse. Then she turned back to me placing her hands on top of mine. She looked me right in the eyes and said, “Kathi, most people come to places like this wanting my autograph or something from me. You have come offering me something I need the most. Will you REALLY pray for my family and me?” I said, “Sure, I’ll be happy to do that!” She bent down. When she hugged me, she whispered, “Thanks! We really need you to pray.” From that encounter came the opportunity for me to send to Sarah my written prayers and the written prayers of others. I’m hoping that tens of thousands of people (or more) will remember to pray for Sarah and her family. If you would like to write a Prayer for Sarah, go to the Contact Tab or click here. HARVESTER CHRISTIAN CHURCH
Kathi sings in one of the “hottest” and most inspiring choirs in St. Charles County. The Victory Choir at Harvester Christian Church sings every 2nd and 4th Sunday, at Nights of Praise, Special Services and has taken several road trips. They sang before more than 20,000 at the North American Christian Convention in Tampa, Florida a few years ago. The choir sings in very small churches, too, to encourage them to keep singing for the LORD. Oh, yeah, we have sung for the Festival of the Little Hills, in St. Charles, at the St. Peters Olde Tyme Picnic and at Mid Rivers Mall to name a few local places. Kathi has had the privilege of directing the Carolers for HCC’s Journey to Bethlehem for the last 9 years. In December 2008 more than 18,000 people took that Journey. I imagine some of you reading this article have taken walked that Journey yourselves. Check out the Bulletin pages to find out times and dates for programs at HCC. Kathi has recruited over 70 students to Kentucky Christian University. Many of them have sung in Servants in the Son, an audition only High School choir that travels for 2 weeks in June with Destiny, the premier vocal group for KCU. She has had several voice students who have also sung in Destiny. Many of these vocalists have sung in Carnegie Hall and the Lincoln Center in NYC. Some have sung in Havana, Cuba and many have recorded in Nashville. The music program offers multiple degrees. I highly recommend that all Christian high school students should definitely plan a campus visit to Kentucky Christian University. I especially recommend the unparalleled music department under the direction of Dr. Mark Deakins.
