"My story?" Well, let me see...
Sales, a paper route, more sales, marketing, a little aviation, meeting a wonderful and very beautiful woman, who became my wife for many years, till 24-Jan-06, and the mother of "Our Three Fabulous Children!", Paige, Mark and Kyle; also, I helped to bring into being a new and very exciting technology and its industry, that's right!!! Wireless Data & Voice Telecommunications (a.k.a.: Cellular)
-- oh, lest I forget, ...lots ...and lots of fun and exciting trumpet and French horn practices and performances!
That's my story ;-)
So, you ask, "Just what was the impetus of your rich experience and successes in your professional life?" Simple, I took the "Red Rider" red wagon, a gift my mother had won in a drawing the local United grocery store held, and walked, pulling it up to several blocks in all directions from my home in Enid, OK, selling single boxes of various types of greeting cards, birthday cards, get well cards and the like to all the neighbors in our community; she, my mom, tells the story, "John, you would leave in the late afternoon pulling that red wagon full of boxes of cards and come back home sometime later with an empty wagon; and pockets full of $money$ -- the year was circa 1967, I was five-years old at the time!
Others tell the story of how I entered into the Cellular Telephone business, working for Audiovox, a premier manufacture of Cellular Telephones, mobile, transportable and finally the portables we now use. My work took me to places around the globe; all totaled, amounting to over 2.8 million miles. They tell how I "’turned down the job’ that launched my career”; after turning it down initially, the owner of the firm asked me to reconsider, which I did, accepting the job that launched my fantastic career in cellular telecommunications as VP Audiovox and then for the later years with Philips.
My proudest moments of life are those very, very treasured times with my family, principally, the birth of my three incredibly marvelous children, my oldest daughter, who is my precious Paige, my son, Mark and my youngest, my lovely daughter, Kyle!!! I love them each, dearly!!!
Today, my world is all about creating “Good Memories! If what I am doing fits into that picture, then I’m doing what I should be doing! I hope we can, together, help to build many “Good Memories “!!!
Sincerely,
John M. Sunderland
