I have proudly served the Transportation Industry for more than 21 years. As a 1987 B.S. AgEconomics Graduate from Murray State University, Murray, KY. I Began my Career as a Transportation Broker at  C. H. Robinson. I later pursued an opportunity to open a Brokerage and Logistics office for KLLM Transport where I developed my entrepreneur skills by launching a business from the ground up. I then made another career change to focus on further developing my fulltime outside sales skills and took on a position as Southeast Regional Sales Manager for Turbo Logistics. It was at Turbo where I met my business partner Russ Caudell. Together Russ and I have over 45 years of diverse-combined transportation experience. We put together a plan to develop what is C.L. Services. We had no idea that our formula for success would ever work from a little office and a computer on the easy finance plan from Best Buy. But, we pumped our heart and soul into our start-up company, going almost an entire year without a paycheck. The sacrifice paid off and our Company has grown over the years and is able to provide our customers with diverse products and services. Today we are very proud of our company and our people that have grown with us over the past 12 years. It is truly our employees and customers that bought into our plan and believed in us that molded our success. I am a firm believer that "there is no ‘I’ in team" and this is a group effort with our employees, customers, carriers, and advisors.  Our goal for the next 12 years is to continue to develop our company, while staying focused on our core business competencies of Domestic Truckload, LTL, Intermodal and Warehousing Services.

My Professional Memberships include the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Transportation and Logistics Council, Transportation Intermediaries Association (CTB certified) and an alumnus of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity.

On a personal side, I have always felt like I had a missing piece in my life after the untimely death of my father when I was a small boy.  Today, my greatest joy comes from filling that piece with my faith and family and with helping other children who have experienced the loss of a parent.  My wife, 15-year-old son, 12-year-old daughter and 8-year-old son recently went through the lengthy process to adopt a 6 year old boy from an orphanage in Ukraine – a journey that has positively changed their lives forever.  Victor is a vibrant and curious little boy who is so thankful for the small things that we commonly take for granted and of course, the obvious…a forever family and a new life in the United States.  I treasure my time with my wife and children, I enjoys scuba diving, fishing, and bird hunting with my American Water Spaniel “Mate”.  I also serve and volunteer for a number of children's charities and adoption ministries and i am an active member of New Hope Baptist Church.
