I was born and raised in Kailua on the island of O’ahu where I live with my wife and two kids to this very day. Although a Hawaii boy at heart, I’ve always had an adventurous side to my personality that has taken me all over the world. I was a touring professional drummer for a number of years out of college, and these experiences helped fashion my great people skills and casual-friendly demeanor. Once I returned to the islands for good, I decided to take advantage of my skills as a surfer, boater, and people person and got my captain’s license. This allowed me to take passengers out on a 45 foot sailing catamaran for high-thrill adventures off Waikiki Beach. I was introduced to the mortgage industry just before the last big housing market boom hit in 2003, and was fortunate enough to have great guidance while I “learned the ropes” of this exciting and rewarding business. I was promoted to office manager within the first two years of my tenure as a loan officer and was soon given my own branch office with a staff of ten to run.
