Gwen Marshall was born in San Francisco, California, and married Ronald Marshall in 1974 they have four children, and 9 grandchildren. In 1975 Gwen joined the United States Air Force as an Environmental Health Specialist, which required extensive study in the field of Biology, and Environmental testing. Gwen was assigned to make sure that all base services were in compliance, such as barber shops, restaurants, cafeterias, as well as communicable disease, and sexually transmitted disease counseling and testing etc. After four years she left the Air Force, she moved back to California, and started school at San Francisco City College, and on to San Jose City College, majoring in Biology. During which time she was a case manager for the San Francisco City Clinic covering Communicable Disease control, but she was forced to quit school after her youngest child became sick with pneumonia, but she remained at the clinic
When her father became ill, she and her family moved back to San Francisco to care for her father, and she went to work for Neiman Marcus. She became a top sales person in the Men’s Suits, and fine clothing Department, and became quite familiar with well known celebrity customers such as Danny Glover, longtime San Francisco resident, Whoopi Goldberg, Eric Clapton, Brian Boitano, Bill Cosby, Ronnie Lott, Joe Montana of the San Francisco 49ers, and LaVar Burton who played Toby in the movie Roots. After her father passed away, and she encouraged her husband to open his own Construction Company at which time she went to work for him, and after he was invited to Georgia to build a house for a Doctor, and his family in South Georgia, they decided to relocate to the Stone Mountain area, and Gwen and her husband became equal partners of RGM Management & Development where she serves as the Vice President and COO, and is the company’s Mobilization Manager. RGM is a full service Construction Services Company. RGM celebrates its 13th year, and has been published in the Blue Book every year since 1998. The Blue Book is a top quality resource in the Construction Industry. Gwen is co-founder and Executive Board member of Heirs Orbiting which is a 501 C(3) which does Homebuyer Education, and covers various consumer issues. She and her Husband also own Metro Air Emissions. Gwen served as President of the Redan Swim Team Booster Club, a position she held for five years consecutively, two years of which her daughter had already graduated from the school. . Gwen has also partnered with the DeKalb County Library System where she has put on Health Fairs covering various health issues including AIDS.
Gwen is a panel member for the DeKalb County Youth Diversion Program serving on two panels. She a member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce where she is an Ambassador, and a member of the Small to Mid-Size Business Council She is a past Area Director for the DeKalb Lead Group of the Atlanta Metropolitan Black Chamber of Commerce, and past Vice President of Membership and Outreach for the Chamber. She is the Out-going President of the Rainbow International Chapter of the American Business Women’s Association, a position she held for two years consecutively and the Incoming Vice President. Gwen has served on the nominating and hospitality committees for the Atlanta Area Council. Gwen became a NetWeaving Ambassador in
2007, “NetWeaving is the art of connecting people and positioning yourself as a resource to others. Just in the belief that what goes around, comes around.” NetWeaving was
founded by Mr. Bob Littell who has written several books on the subject including the book “The Heart and Art of NetWeaving.”
Gwen was nominated, and published in the “Who’s Who among Professionals” for two consecutive years, and will be included again in the 2006-2007 edition as a life time member. This publication goes in the Library of Congress.
