David Boufford; aka Mr. Positive!

As a 15-year old teenager I discovered the personal growth industry. Of course, at the time I didn’t know it. I simply read a book – Jonathon Livingston Seagull – that resonated with me deeply. It gave me answers I wasn’t finding anywhere else in my life.

And that was only just the beginning. A couple years later a friend introduced me to the world of sales. This was also when I listened to my first self-help program: Lead the Field, by Earl Nightingale. I’ve been devouring books and programs steadily ever since.

I’m literally a product of personal and professional development products. I’m healthy with a loving family and a strong, prospering business.

Twenty-seven some-odd years of studying the products is the reason I defied the odds and cherish the life I have. You see, statistics say that someone like me (high school drop-out; bit of a child delinquent; broken home) should only earn about $20,000 a year and have all sorts of problems. I didn’t like that picture.

Once upon a time I was taught to get an education, then a job, and finally retire with a pension . . . yet I intuitively knew there was more. And I’ve been pursuing “more” for 27 years.

Along the way I’ve learned what works and doesn’t work in business. For example: The first 4 businesses I founded all failed. And that was by age 25. But the 5th one was a different story.

My fifth business flourished for 12 years in the ultra-competitive LA advertising market but I was ready for a change. Next I built a consulting practice. It’s hard to share details of this business without sounding like I’m bragging.

Yet I am proud of how well I’ve helped other people build their businesses and how I’ve helped them achieve their dreams.

In one case I took a client from a customer base of 1500 to over 100,000 customers; and their hourly sales now exceed what their monthly sales used to be.

I’ll share one more example: I guided another client to double sales in 11 months and to take their business nationwide with 27 locations. I could continue but I’ve illustrated the point.

I've consulted for over 300 companies in 8 countries. I started with “Mom & Pop” start-ups and quickly progressed to companies with annual sales exceeding $300 million.

Finally, I’m also the Founder and President of the world’s very first Positive News Network. This online ezine is read in over 150 countries.

So WHY Motivation-In-A-Minute? Because I LOVE helping people. When I see you transform into the person and/or the life you were meant to live, it just trips my trigger.

It gives me chills to experience the changes with you. It’s at these moments when I know I’m living out my purpose. I’m contributing something of value to the world as I help you take advantage of the opportunities around you.

Family, interests, and so on: I’m in my early forties. My lovely wife Arlene and our two teenage children – Anita and Jonathon - share my life. Plus we have a small zoo featuring a dog, 3 cats and 3 fish to round out the household.

I'm also very proud of being a Big Brother to Cris for the past 18 years, he's taught me so much and I'm forever grateful for our friendship.

I love to fish and watch auto racing. As I kid I played a lot of ice hockey and I’m still a huge fan. I also enjoy time on warm sandy beaches and learning. In fact, I thrive on learning.

For over 20 years I’ve been an entrepreneur. My businesses have all been about helping others in one way or another. And Motivation-In-A-Minute is simply an extension of my passion for helping others. How may I help you?
