Aqualyn has over 14 years of leadership experience in brand management, sales, and account management for top consumer packaged goods and technology companies including Procter & Gamble and BBN/GTE Internetworking. Her work has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, as well as a variety of consumer and trade magazines. Presently, she is the founder of AQUA-LYNK Marketing Agency LLC (www.AQUA-LYNK.com), a brand consulting firm committed to helping businesses create meaningful brands that resonate with consumers. AQUA-LYNK specializes in building productive relationships between brands and their target markets. By leveraging AQUA-LYNK’s proprietary 7-Step PLC™ Branding Process, her team develops winning strategies that seamlessly engage consumers as advocates and believers of the brands they enjoy. AQUA-LYNK partners with agencies to ensure that the creative execution delivers on the strategy.

 

Aqualyn obtained her B.S. in Mathematics from Spelman College, and went on to enjoy a successful career at BBN - the inventors of the internet. Thereafter, she earned her M.B.A. from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. While there, she joined Procter & Gamble as a brand intern on the Olay skin care business where she was identified as a top intern, and was asked to present to the president of the beauty care division. Upon graduation, Aqualyn joined P&G’s CoverGirl Cosmetics brand in Hunt Valley, MD. She delivered traditional brand management deliverables, as well as non-traditional brand strategy work including the launch of the first-ever cosmetics record label, and the first fully-integrated branding strategy with a Hollywood movie (Queen Latifah’s “Beauty Shop”).

 

Aqualyn’s strengths include brand strategy, brand management, relationship marketing, market research strategy, corporate & community alliance strategies, and business development. She enjoys challenges including performing stand-up comedy, improvisational skits, voice-over work, and other positively mind-opening activities including international travel and learning new languages.

 

She is a board member of Young Audiences at the Woodruff Arts Center, Synchronicity Performance Group, The Butler Street YMCA, and assists other community-minded boards in the Atlanta area. She is currently President of the Fuqua Alumni Club of Atlanta, and represents Fuqua as a board member of the Atlanta Business School Alliance (ABSA). She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., the Junior League of Atlanta, the National Alumnae Association of Spelman College, and select industry organizations. She actively supports the American Heart Association, the Atlanta Women’s Foundation, United Way and organizations focused on women business owners.
